The Question Is:
Why do you read the genre that you do? What draws you to it?
My Answer:
I've always been drawn to fantasy, supernatural and sci-fi titles. I'm not sure why. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my mother used to read them out-loud quite a bit when I was young or that delving into a new exciting fantasy world has always been more interesting to me than normal life? I'm an imaginative person who is usually pretty happy most of the time. I tend to not let negatives come in the way of things and try to never stop believing in something just because others say it can't happen or doesn't exist. Fantasy, supernatural, and sci-fi tales tend to have some elements similar to how I look at life. Then again, I'm not sure why exactly I like these titles. They've just always spoken to me. :-)

I'm a huge YA fan but I love reading books with fantasy or supernatural themes or ideas!
Give me a book and I'll most likely read it no matter what genre.
I have 2 fiddler crabs, tons of fish, and 4 cats that I call master. LOL!
Today I posted a review of a grand Steampunkery Book! Please do check it out, I highly recommend Vampire Empire: The Greyfriar if you want Steampunkery and a mix of many genres. A new favorite... indeed a huggable book!

Here I am hopping on by...
I went all over the map with this question on my blog. I read and enjoy almost every genre of fiction out there. There’s no way I could just pick one.
So I talked about all of them. Even romance fiction (sort of)! I invite you to hop over to my blog at http://www.howardsherman.net and see for yourself.

I read more than one genre. But there are a few genres I don't read. Come see what I do and don't read.

I definitely agree with you, love fantasy, sci fi, supernatural. I'd like to think I have a vivid imagination and books like that are just amazing to imagine about!
I'm a new follower, have a great weekend :]
Yay for fantasy! I read a lot of different genres but YA fantasy novels make up a large majority of my favorites :)
Hopping through. I love black labs. I have a dog who is half Basset Hound and half yellow lab.

Thanks for the recommendations for my "Read Outside Your Comfort Zone" Challenge, Brooke! I've heard a lot of good things about Knightley Academy - it's a middle grade and it has a male protagonist, so it looks like an excellent choice :) And Heaven Looks a Lot Like the Mall sounds like a fun read - and if it's the only novel in verse you like then I may like it too!
I know, when I thought about it I was surprised with how many categories I could come up with of books that I normally would pass by. Not sure just how many I'll get to this year but hopefully I'll be able to broaden my limits at least a little!
